Krav Maga Level 1 – Students will learn Krav Maga’s fighting stance and movement, punches, kicks, elbows and knees, and how to defend against punches, chokes, headlocks and other attacks. Equipment needed – Krav Maga Shirt – Groin Protector – Mouthpiece – Wristwrap Gloves – Wrestling or Boxing shoes.
Krav Maga Levels 2, 3, 4, 5 – You must test to get into these classes. Testing is done as required by that specific Level. There is a criteria to be met for testing. You can find this info at KravMagaIllinois.com. Each level will cover that specific level’s curriculum, which may consist of fighting, ground fighting, advanced self defense, weapons defenses and third party protection. When there is a combined class (i.e. Krav Maga Levels 2-3) all of the included level’s curriculum will be covered. Equipment needed – Krav Maga Shirt – Krav Maga shorts/pants – Groin Protector – Mouthpiece – Wristwrap Gloves – Wrestling or Boxing shoes – Shin Guards – Headgear – 16 oz. Gloves.
Krav Maga All Levels – This class is for all students and those who have challenging schedules, or no interest in testing to the next level. It gives the student a look into the higher levels of Krav Maga. Techniques taught during this class can be anything from chokes to fighting techniques to handgun and other weapons defenses. Equipment needed – Krav Maga Shirt – Shin Guards – Groin Protector – Mouthpiece – Wristwrap Gloves – Wrestling or Boxing shoes.
Boxing – Class objectives focus on proper techniques for throwing combinations, footwork, head movement, sparring techniques and ring strategies. This class is for beginners as well as advanced students. Whether you are a boxing enthusiast or have your sights set on competition, this is the program for you. Equipment needed Mouthpiece – 16 oz. gloves – Headgear – Wrestling or Boxing shoes.
Krav Maga Heavy Bag – For all students. This class consists of a warm up using body weight exercises, and cardiovascular work. Students then move to the heavy bags and are given different combinations to do on the bag as fast and hard as they can. This class builds stamina, speed, power and endurance. Equipment needed – 16 oz. Boxing Gloves – Wrestling or Boxing shoes.
Krav Maga Strikes/ Krav Maga Thai Pads – This class focuses on combinations used within the Krav Maga class. Strikes and kicks are done to focus mitts or thai pads. Student learns the correct way of holding thai pads, or focus mitts, for safety and proper technique, while the strikers are building strength and explosive power through hitting the pads the proper way. Equipment needed – 16 oz. Boxing Gloves – Wrestling or Boxing shoes.
Force Training – Law Enforcement Officers and Military personnel only. This class addresses specific scenarios that apply to LEO/Military, teaching relevant defenses against a variety of armed and unarmed attacks. Use of force issues will be incorporated into the training. Proof of employment, such as a Military ID, Department ID, Star or Shield. – Mouthguard – Groin Cup – Duty Belt / Pancake Holster – Training Gun – Krav Maga T-Shirt – Wrestling or Boxing Shoes
Fit2Defend Kid’s Only – For children 6-13 yrs old, teaching awareness, bully proofing and self defense skills. Children learn when to use their self defense skills and how to deal with situations related to personal safety. Equipment needed – Wrist wrap gloves – Krav Maga shirt – wrestling or boxing shoes.
Krav Fit – For all students. This class consists of cardiovascular and anaerobic activities related to Krav Maga Training. Krav Maga combatives (punches, knees, kicks, elbows) will be used in various drills and exercises. This class will not only get you in shape, but will also increase your fighting spirit, balance, coordination, stamina, and situational awareness. Equipment needed – Wrist wrap gloves – Wrestling or Boxing shoes.
Strength and Conditioning.- Open to students of all fitness levels, this class utilizes bodyweight exercises, plyometrics, agility training, circuit training and weight training to increase your fitness level. No equipment is needed for this class.
