Krav Maga Illinois 2021 Challenge Series

Krav Maga Illinois – Coach Joe and his jump rope!

Its been a long and difficult year so far, and 2020 was one of the biggest challenges we have faced. We are getting through it, since we have no choice but to go forward. It’s almost as if time had stopped. We stopped being active, stopped gathering with friends, eating out, traveling and just plain taking care of ourselves. We saw no way out, and had no idea how long it would go on. There was no end point to look forward to, since things kept changing.

Now that it seems things are easing up a bit, it is time to get back to business. We can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel, and are quickly trying to move toward it. It’s time to jumpstart ourselves back to where we were, and in fact surpass that.

Krav Maga Illinois has been open for some time during the pandemic, adhering to multiple changing restrictions. We have settled into the idea of wearing masks while training and keeping our distance. We could fight it all we want, but in order to stay safe, and keep our Krav Maga Illinois community safe, we must be responsible. Krav Maga training in general, teaches you to be comfortable with being uncomfortable, and adding a mask to the mix brings up your level of “uncomfortableness”. It will only make us stronger.

In order to jumpstart our mental and physical fitness, Krav Maga Illinois is introducing a Challenge Series. As if the Krav Maga class was not challenging enough, our Krav Maga Illinois Challenge series is a way of being more accountable, accomplishing goals and rising to the next level.

We have had a burpee challenge, an all around fighting challenge, (21 three minute rounds) and are now in the midst of our Krav Maga Illinois Jump Rope challenge. We will also be introducing, kicking challenges, class challenges and others throughout the rest of the year.

The challenge series is a great ride-along with our Krav Maga classes. It produces more camaraderie with other students, pushes you to your limits, motivates you and gives you an end time and end result. It gives you a basis to excel even further in the next challenge. It has the power to change you, to create healthier habits, set new goals. Through consistency and repetitive effort, you can achieve almost anything, and with a daily plan and goal, there is no telling how much you can accomplish.
